Vintage 1950's Astatic T-3 crystal "bullet" microphone High Z harp mic w F-11 adapter REPAIR # 2

       Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome.

 You are looking at a unique and beautiful 1950's era Astatic T-3 model crystal microphone made in Conneaut, Ohio and it comes complete with the lower F-11 adapter shown which allows this mic to operate. This particular model still has the early riveted badge showing it's age. It should be noted right away that this mic comes with an original crystal element which does still work but the signal strength is only about 25% and too weak for any live event. The lower chrome F-11 adapter is properly wired however so if you replace the element with a good working crystal unit or Shure C.M or C.R element...you'll have an excellent looking and working mic.

 Pic # 2 shows this very model in an old Astatic 1950's era mic advertisement. Astatic built this particular mic for about 20 years starting in the early 1950's.

 This T-3 mic was originally intended for home recording and general broadcasting purposes but happens to make a fantastic harp mic these days due to it's lite weight and smaller size. Easy to cup in the hand.

 The all metal body with polished chrome plate finish shows very lite wear. It's free of any dents, corrosion, deep scratches or engravings but there are some tiny scratches and pitting. The front chrome grill looks excellent with zero dents, odors or tarnish and the inner cloth screen is free of any rips or holes. Mic has all original screws. There is plenty of tension on the pivot mechanism giving you just the right angle needed. I would give it a very conservative 8 on a scale of 1 - 10 physically speaking. One of the nicer early T-3's I have personally seen.

 This mic comes with the vintage original F-11 adapter that screws onto the mic. The F-11 was essential to operate several Astatic mics of this era. The F-11 includes the 8 foot cable and qualiyy male 1/4 inch end connector. The cable is soft, pliable and in excellent working condition. The F-11 will screw onto and desk or floor stand you have as well. The F-11 is in excellent physical and operational condition.
