Crash Cymbals for Sale on Reverb
Crash cymbals are an essential tool for all drummers, no matter the genre. Generally thinner and lighter, when struck on the edge these cymbals make a definitive statement worthy of their name. From paper-thin to power crashes, find a wide variety of sonic choices to suit your style on Reverb.
How to Choose the Right Crash Cymbal
Most modern acoustic drum sets feature at least one or two crash cymbals, which usually serve as loud accent cymbals rather than cymbals used to play steady patterns (like hi-hats and ride cymbals). One thing to consider when choosing the right crash for you is size.
Crash cymbals can fall anywhere from eight inches all of the way up to 24 inches. Most commonly, you'll see crashes in the 14- to 18-inch range, but as you get into heavier kinds of music, you'll generally see bigger crashes used for their extra power and punch. Similarly, most crash cymbals generally have a medium to thin thickness, but heavier drummers (like those playing metal) will often favor the thicker, more durable options.
Some of our favorite classic crashes can be found in the Paiste Signature series, like the Paiste 18" Signature Dark Energy Crash or the 15" Fast Crash. If you're looking for a hybrid cymbal that can do double-duty, check out the Zildjian 20" K Crash Ride.
