This is a 2017 Gibson Custom Les Paul Special Made 2 Measure VOS in Dark Cherry finish. All original including the pickups, no issues, a resonant body and hyper versatile tones thanks to the hybrid pickup specs. Plus it comes with a new Lifton Historic "Gator Skin" Hardshell Case.

The case is an upgrade and also a perfect fit for this very special Les Paul Special.

This Les Paul Special was part of an extremely limited run of M2M Les Paul Specials by Coda Music in 2017. There were six guitars altogether, each had the same pickup combination (P90 + Firebird) and there was one single cut and one double cut in each finish, which were the following: TV Yellow, Dark Cherry and Green Burst (yes, you read that correctly).

The guitar has some faint swirl marks over the clear coat. As the photos will illustrate it, they can only be visible from certain angles. There is only one tiny ding into the wood at the lower bout and some bigger swirl marks around the headstock. I tried to photograph the most typical examples.

The swirl marks I mentioned above was the result of me trying to make the clear coat thinner using very fine sandpaper and guitar polish. They are not signs of "normal use", and I am sure that a luthier can buff them out easily and quickly. The guitar has seen little playtime and only at home, otherwise

This Les Paul Special weights in at 7.10.6 lbs. The neck profile is 60s Slim Taper officially, but to me this feels like the perfect '59 or early '60 profile, not very skinny or too big at all, it is defo closer to a late '50s profile than to a mid-'60s one.

The P-90 has plenty of bite, it sounds excellent both clean and overdriven, the Firebird pickup has lots of clarity, so the two pickups make a very nice tonal combo. Due to the specs, this guitar has a kind of 'the Les Paul Special version of Lennon's Junior, Neil Young's Old Black or Robby Krieger's LA Woman' vibe to it. Obviously, it is not the same as any of those Custom Shop reissues above, but sonically it is in the same ballpark.

The guitar comes with all the case candy pictured, its COA and its shipping box.
