This particular example, finished in its original three-tone Sunburst is all original with no modifications, repairs, or replaced parts. The finish has aged gracefully, showing the subtle wear and checking expected from a vintage piece that's been put to good use over the years while retaining its vibrant colour and character. The tortoiseshell celluloid guard has shrunk a little but has resisted warping or cracking. The split-pickup configuration, pots and wiring remain untouched and the chrome hardware is in great shape with some tarnishing to the saddles as expected.
At the heart of the Electric XII’s distinct tone are its custom split-coil pickups, which deliver bright, jangly highs with plenty of articulation and low-end clarity. These pickups are controlled by a 4-way rotary selector switch that offers individual neck and bridge pickup settings, both pickups in parallel, and both in series—providing a surprising amount of tonal flexibility for a 12-string guitar.
The bridge is a key design element, purpose-built for 12-string intonation with individual saddles for each string ensuring it holds tuning really well, even with complex chord voicings and open tunings.
