Vintage Ajax Large Shell Pack – 28″, 16″,14″,12″ & Bongos

Vintage Ajax kit

Rather an interesting kit this, it showed up to the shop several years ago and has been used for various recordings. Its been at a studio on hire for the past 6 months and now needs to find a more permanent home.

The shells all look to date from the 40s/50s.

The paint finish looks to be non original, or modified. Its in good condition with some usual scratches & chips in places

Thin and light ply shells with re rings

Bass drum –

• 28 x 12″ –
• 8 lug
• wooden hoops – Some usual chips / rash in places
• Clamp on front spur frame bracket
• Calf skin heads
• There are a few holes that have been filled in this shell. including where it looks like a couple lugs were once changed. These cant be seen at all from the outside

Tom-

• 12″ x 10″
• Premier tom bracket chich clamps to the bass drum hoop. This isnt the most stable or ideal for positioning, so a snare stand may be easier
• Calf skin batter head
• Clear reso head
• Slot headed tension rods
• Die cast hoops

Floor Toms –

• 14″ x 18″
• 16″ x 18″
• with legs
• Calf skin batter heads
• Clear reso heads
• Slot headed tension rods
• Die cast hoops – the 16″ hoops have more pitting that the rest of the chrome on the kit
• The 14″ has a few filled holes where it looks like top and bottom dampeners were once fitted. this cant be seen from the outside

Bongos – 

• Matching bongo drums
• With calf skin heads
• Stand mountable
• With Premier bongo stand
