Ludwig Accent CS Combo Junior c.2020 - Blue/green sparkle (depending on the light)

This is a lovely little Ludwig kid's drum kit. Most of the time i'd describe it as blue, but sometimes it's more of a (volcanic lake?) green, depending on the light. The nice thing about this kit, aside from the beautiful colour, and that it's solid Ludwig drums is that it comes with genuinely small hardware, not just small drums. So it's perfect for primary school age kids (between 3 and 5 foot?), as the small stool, bass pedal, snare stand and high hat stand mean they can actually have the thing set up at a height that works for them.

I bought it with the intention of replacing the drum heads, but actually found that with the exception of the snare, it tuned up nicely on the stock heads. I've put a nice Aquarian Studio X head on the snare, and a felt strip on both bass drum heads. I've been drumming for 30 years and to my ear this little kit sounds as good as any adult starter drum kit by Ludwig or the other big names (Pearl, Yamaha etc). Though i'm sure you could improve it more by putting top notch heads all over if you had money to burn.

It came with only one cymbal stand, as lots of kits do, and really really terrible cymbals that were just so they could say it came with cymbals but were basically bin lids. I thought I’d kept them anyway, but can’t find them so this is being sold without cymbals. I have added an additional cymbal stand which is included. My kids have been using it with Zildjian Gen 16 quiet cymbals which is a great pairing, though these cymbals are not included in the sale, unless you want to make me a good offer (there’s a set currently listed on Ebay for £300). I’ve also replaced the feet on the stool, so don’t worry if you notice in some of the pics it only has two feet!

This is not a new drum kit. I bought it second hand, and have polished and tuned it up before my kids enjoyed it the last few years. So it’s in good condition, all in working order, and pretty tidy, but don’t expect ‘like new’ given that kids have been hitting it with sticks. In my view though this is a good looking kit in good condition, and a much better buy than getting a new cheap kids kit for the same money.
