Players appreciate its tighter bass and richer midrange response over earlier stock speaker iterations. The Version III redesign introduced rubberized rattle-reducing EL84 valve shock absorbers. This fixed the distracting tube rattle issues common to older 1990s and 2000s models when cranked up.
The internal circuit wiring was physically neatened and modified from earlier generations, resulting in a significantly quieter background idle.
