We will ship your purchase in a way that offers what appears to be the best price/speed value, for the shipping rate indicated in the listing. For smaller items, that's usually USPS (Priority if > 1 pound) or UPS for larger items. However, we are happy to ship by any means you prefer but please let us know before ordering--select "make an offer" and we can discuss alternative arrangements. Once payment is processed, we will pack your item carefully and ship your order as soon as possible. Usually, this means the next business day. A tracking number will appear on your order.

If you have special requirements or concerns, please contact us. In most cases, international shipping is no problem, but because pricing varies, please contact us for a quote for your preferred country and we'll add the shipping option to the listing. International buyers are responsible for any tariffs or duties assessed on purchases. No, we will not misrepresent purchases on export forms.

If you purchase items to be shipped to a US location, you (or your freight forwarder) are now considered the exporter for any subsequent export of the items from the United States. As the exporter, you (or your freight forwarder) are solely responsible for compliance with all export and import regulations, including all U.S. export regulations and the import regulations of the destination country.

We cannot accept returns or issue refunds for lost or damaged items received by your freight forwarder. We are not responsible for any damage, defect, material difference, or loss that occurs to items after the items are delivered to you or your freight forwarder. This means that we can not provide a replacement or a refund for any lost or damaged items delivered in the US and subsequently taken outside of the US.

Note: "shipping costs" (deducted from return refunds) means our actual cost to ship the item to you, even if shipping was included in the original price (i.e., item was sold with "free shipping").

Approved returns must be shipped back within 7 days of return approval, and received by us no more than 30 days from date of delivery. Please allow 24 hours for returns to be processed once received.

Returns of items received with visible wear (not disclosed in the original listing) or missing included packaging or accessories will be charged a 15% restocking fee and in particularly egregious cases (e.g., damage or missing critical components), we may, at our sole discretion, refuse to accept the return. Opened/unsealed packages are not considered wear or damage and won't be a problem unless otherwise stated in the listing.

No returns on: In-Ear Headphones, Software, Microphones, Mouth-Related Accessories, or any other product where the listing description clearly indicates the item is sold "As-Is" with no refunds.

Note re. cases: Guitar cases can be tricky! If you're not sure if your guitar will fit and the listing doesn't specifically say it will fit a particular model of guitar (e.g., a standard strat/tele/LP body), please ask first, as the buyer will be responsible for shipping costs on "doesn't fit" returns.

Note re. hums/noise/hiss - most amplified electrical instruments and effects will have some floor level of noise, even ones that are "hum-canceling". That level will vary with the instrument, type of effect, pickup style, etc., not to mention the environment where it's being used, connected gear, etc. We get frustrated by noise too! If you find a product is too noisy for your taste, you may by all means return it under our normal Return Policy, but that noise will not be considered a "defect" unless it is something truly bizarre or unusual (if there's a clear problem with the unit--like a pedal simply screeching and not passing signal, etc., which is super-rare). As a general rule, we'll defer to the distributor or manufacturer to make a determination as to whether the noise inherent in a product is normal or out of the ordinary. Let us know if you have any questions on this.

Flaws vs. Defects (new items)

To the extent many musical instruments (e.g., guitars) are manufactured by humans out of natural materials, most will have some sort of tiny flaws or minor imperfections in their finish. As with diamonds, these are often only visible upon close inspection, make the item unique, and also allow you to identify the instrument as being your own. We do our best to take plenty of photos so you should have a good sense of what the item looks like to anyone at arm's length. If you receive an item and decide that it has finish flaws that cause you to dislike the instrument enough that you don’t want it, you are certainly free to return it under our return policy just as if you didn’t like the sound of the instrument (i.e., it’s an aesthetic determination). However, the customer is responsible for return shipping on those kinds of returns.

By contrast, a defect is a major cosmetic flaw, faulty part, or mechanical/electrical issue that prevents the item from performing as it should. If an item has a defect, then you may return the item at our cost. These are items that we would return to a manufacturer because it is not what it purports to be.

In our experience, lower cost items are more likely to have flaws than higher cost items (as with fine jewels), though this is not necessarily the case, especially with handmade items. However, no item should have a true defect, regardless of its cost, and we stand by those products (exceptions, of course, where an item is described and sold as not working in some way).
