This specific serial number and potentiometer codes perfectly verify it as a highly collectible, early production run model from April 1998.Factory Authentication & Dating:Serial Number (N8349099): The "N8" prefix designates US production in 1998 (N = 1990s, 8 = 1998).Potentiometer Source Code (303): Identifies the component manufacturer used during this manufacturing era.Potentiometer Date Code (9817): Confirms the internal electronics were manufactured during the 17th week (late April) of 1998. Factory Specifications:The Tele-Sonic was a unique, short-lived departure from standard Telecasters, blending traditional Fender construction with Gibson and Gretsch-style attributes: Body: Honduran Mahogany featuring 11 internal tone chambers for weight relief and enhanced resonance.Neck: Bolt-on Maple with a comfortable Modern "C" profile and satin polyurethane finish.Fretboard: Rosewood, 9.5" radius, 22 medium jumbo frets.Scale Length: Shorter 24.75" scale (matching traditional Gibson lengths for a looser string feel).Pickups: Dual US-made DeArmond 2K single-coil pickups (yielding a thick, punchy, P-90 style chime).Controls: 2 Volume knobs, 2 Tone knobs, and a 3-way toggle switch arranged in a Les Paul layout.Bridge: Fender Tech-Tonic fully adjustable, low-profile 6-saddle locking wrap-around bridge/tailpiece.Case: Original black molded Fender hardshell case.____________________________________________________________________________________________________________Here we have a near mint early 1998 Fender Tele-Sonic in amazing condition.Cosmetically the guitar is very clean and would be mint except for some light pick scratching on the pickguard and some 'very' light guitar strap scratching on the very surface of the back of the body. Otherwise. Flawless. The frets are like new showing no signs of any playing wear. All set up with a seasoned rosewood fretboard and a set of Ernie Ball .10-.46 strings, the guitar plays nice and easy with perfect string height and chimes out real bright and loud even when not plugged in. Plugged in the guitar sound is very powerful with tons of tone from those screamin' DeArmond pickups. A truly unique and great Fender Telecaster.___________________________________________________________________________________________________A 28 year old guitar that has hardly been played comes with it's like new Fender hard molded case.Guitar weighs 8 lbs. 4 oz.Ships fast and insured.Shipping box Dimensions46"X20"X8"Shipping weight 24 lbs.Shop at our Reverb Store for a bunch of vintage and other products at:https://reverb.com/shop/gordys-musicIN BUSINESS for 40 YEARS!!50 YEARS of VINTAGE EXPERIENCE!MICHIGAN GUITAR SHOW PROMOTORS Since 1989!Brick and mortar to the end!__________________________________________________________________________________Visit our new secured still under construction website to see the long list of celebrity musicians and groups we have met and serviced in the past 40 years.
