Drummers tired of lugging around heavy stands from show-to-show may have a new friend in Yamaha’s Crosstown lightweight hardware, newly announced at Summer NAMM.
The full HW3 set—which includes two CS3 cymbal stands, the HHS3 hi-hat stand, and a SS3 snare stand—weighs only 17.05 lbs (or 7.8 kg) and comes with a large carrying case that can fit your kick pedal or other additional items from your setup.
The all-aluminum hardware has a sand-blasted finish and uses Yamaha’s universal 22 mm diameter so that it can be easily combined with other Yamaha equipment. You can also easily remove the arm of CS3 cymbal stand to convert it to a straight two-piece unit—making the lightweight set even easier to lift.
