Video: Checking Out the Brand-New Greer Soma 63 on the NAMM Floor in Anaheim

With the NAMM show in Anaheim officially in full swing, we've been all over the floor checking out the newest and most exciting releases from all of our favorite brands. In the video above, Reverb's Joe Shadid stopped by the Greer booth to have a look at the brand's new pedal, the Soma 63.

The Soma 63 is a vintage preamp based on the tone and feel of the vintage brown-ear amps from California, and it's the first stompbox in Greer's new pedal range called the XFR Series. The pedal calls to mind that vintage vibe by simulating the entire preamp, phase inverter, power section, and feel of the vintage 10-inch Utah speakers found on those amps, and features a tone stack designed for versatility to boot.

It features a small steel core transformer that replicates that sweet vintage saturation, especially when it's pushed hard with higher-output pickups. Check out the video above for a first look at the new unit, and preorder your own Soma 63 right here on Reverb. Ship dates are estimated for early February.
