AlphaTheta Acquires Serato

Pioneer DJ's parent company, AlphaTheta Corporation, has acquired Serato, one of the biggest brands in DJing. This move comes after a long-standing history of collaboration between both companies—in the past decade, Pioneer controllers have been made compatible with Serato's software to enhance the digital DJ experience.

Now that the transaction has been completed, AlphaTheta Corporation is in full ownership of all shares in the New Zealand-based Serato, known for DJ software products including Studio, Sample and Pitch 'n Time. AlphaTheta Corporation CEO, Yoshinori Kataoka, expressed his excitement over the acquisition in a statement: "Bringing Serato into the AlphaTheta Group will lead to new synergies and significant technological innovations, adding continued value to the community."

Serato CEO Young Ly added that "we are excited to deepen our long-standing partnership with AlphaTheta, accelerating how we create value for our users and the industry.”

This move is the latest in a series of significant buyouts in the electronic music tech sphere, but AlphaTheta Corporation's acquisition of Serato is a promising move that's expected to lead to new and exciting developments in the DJing market.
