This week's special Reverb find is a 1979 Trident Series 80 recording console that looks to be in quite stunning condition. According to the listing, this console is also an early Trident Series 80 (of which not many were made) rather than the slightly later Series 80B, which tend to pop up more frequently.
This Trident Series 80 was purchased from its original owner in 2013 and has been beautifully maintained. It's been in service at the Tone Factory recording studio in Las Vegas, Nevada since early 2014. It features a 32-channel desk with a metal patchbay, and everything has been checked and meticulously cleaned.
All channels have been recapped by amp guru Carl Popek, and New York tech Ed Evans replaced pots, switchers, faders, and power supplies as necessary. Mods have also been made to the main monitor master, aux/remix master, and first two tape return module channels by Jim Williams of Audio Upgrades.
According to the listing, this console comes with:
- Spare module
- Original manual
- Original power supplies
- Box of miscellaneous Trident parts
- Original Audiofad faders
- Upgraded Acopian power supplies
- Coleman speaker switcher
- LED mod on the meters by Vegas studio tech Donnie Whitbeck
- Extender card and cables
- New faders sourced by John Klett of Purple audio
- All cabling for plug and play installation
Be sure to check out the rest of the listing for more specific information on dimensions, console details, and to make an offer.
