Boss Unveils 3 New Pedals: RC-5, RC-500, and GT-1000CORE

Boss has unveiled three brand-new pedals today that build on some of the brand's fan-favorite series. First up is the RC-5 Loop Station, which promises to be your essential creative looping companion.

The RC-5 features 99 phrase memories and a whopping 13 hours of stereo recording, ensuring that none of your ideas go unexplored. There are 57 preset rhythms packed into the pedal, as well as seven different drum kits, and promises class-leading sound with 32-bit AD/DA and 32-bit floating-point processing.

The pedal features an intuitive interface for such a compact unit, with an LCD screen that lets you keep an eye on loop status via a backlight that changes colors based on the mode—whether recording, overdub, or playback. It's also fully MIDI capable with TRS I/O and MIDI sync with DAWs and drum machines.

Building on the RC-5 is the bigger sibling, the RC-500 Loop Station. This pedal is a dual-track powerhouse, featuring two full loop tracks and mic and stereo instrument inputs for endless possibility and creativity. It's a great partner for a singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, or guitarist trying to expand their playing power.

Like its smaller RC-5 sibling, the RC-500 features class-leading 32-bit AD/DA and 32-bit floating-point processing, as well as the same 13 hours of recording time and onboard storage for 99 phrase memories. However, with the RC-500, players get extra drum kits (16, to be exact) on top of its 57 preset rhythms (with A/B variations). This pedal is also fully MIDI-capable as well.

GT-1000-CORE Guitar Effects Processor

Last but not least, Boss has unveiled the GT-1000CORE Guitar Effects Processor, which the brand promises is "the most complete guitar and bass processing experience available in a single stompbox." Boss has taken the full DSP power and muscle of its flagship GT-1000 and packed it into an exceedingly compact and portable package.

The GT-1000CORE is quite the powerhouse, featuring 24 simultaneous effects blocks and over 140 unique amps and effects types to play around with, including classic Boss effects, vintage stompboxes, MDP effects, and algorithms pulled from the DD-500, MD-500, and RV-500 pedals. There are also numerous series/parallel routing options for even more creative freedom.

The GT-1000CORE features 16 slots for onboard user IRs, and a bunch of useful extra features like a high-resolution tuner with mono and polyphonic displays, a built-in looper, and two send/return loops for external effects.
