The Heritage Audio Mix Buddy is a desktop instrument mixer with 19 inputs: four stereo Hi Gain JFET channels, three stereo Unity JFET channels, a JFET mic preamp with up to 70 dB of gain, a balanced stereo line input, and a stereo FX return. Two independent master outputs (transformer 73-DI and transformerless) plus a headphone amp cover studio desks and live instrument rigs.

Inputs

Hi Gain channels use Toshiba 2SK JFET buffers at 12 dB for passive basses, Rhodes, and other lower-level sources. Unity channels stay clean for drum machines, active basses, and hot synths. Each channel has volume, stereo/mono+thru, mute, and an aux send with pre/post switching. Inserting only the left FX return pans that signal to center.

Outputs and Aux

Master Main Out runs through Heritage Audio's 73 single-ended Class A DI transformers and switches between line and mic level. Main Out 2 is transformerless. Both masters have ground lift. A stereo or mono aux loop, a global FX on/off, and the mic preamp's access to that loop let you park guitar pedals on vocals or instruments without a separate mixer.
