The Arturia KeyStep 37 mk2 is a compact 37-note controller and polyphonic step sequencer designed for hybrid setups. With an Arturia-designed Slimkey keyboard featuring velocity and aftertouch, an OLED display, mode-aware encoders, and deep connectivity via CV/Gate, MIDI, and USB-C, it bridges hardware and software so you can compose, jam, and perform anywhere.

Hands-On Control

Four mode-aware encoders plus a dedicated Control button give instant access to Seq, Arp, Chord, and Mutate parameters without menu-diving. The OLED display with clickable push-encoder and Back button makes every edit fast and intuitive. RGB LEDs above the keys provide real-time visual feedback for sequence progress, banks, patterns, and scale context.

Sequencer

Record or program polyphonic patterns with up to 64 steps of 8-note polyphony across 8 pattern slots. Chain patterns to build full songs. Overdub, undo, and transform sequences live with real-time, step, or unquantized recording modes. Add rests and ties with ease.

Arpeggiator

16 arp modes including Poly, Walk, Pattern, and Random. Phrase Arp remaps your sequence to played notes for immediate musical mutations. Dedicated controls for octave range, time division, and gate length.

Generative Creativity

Mutate transforms your sequences with one touch — with a dedicated knob for deeper generative shaping. Spice and Dice sliders add controlled randomness and live variation. Capture a riff, turn it into a sequence, then keep transforming it.

Chord & Scale Modes

Lock to scales (Chromatic, Major, Minor, Blues, and user-defined) for effortless in-key playing. Chord mode offers 12 chord types with velocity-responsive strum control. SHIFT shortcut for quick scale selection.

MIDI CC Control

Dedicated MIDI CC button with 16 assignable CCs across 4 banks, mapped to the encoders and available across all modes for hands-on gear control.
