With softer contours and a longer body dimension than Collings’ 0 14-Fret model, the 0 12-Fret has a balanced and full tone with slightly more bass and overall volume. First introduced 7 years prior to the Civil War in 1854, the articulate tone and convenient size of the “0” 12-Fret body dimensions have remained popular to this day. Featuring a comfortable short 24 7/8″ scale, a 1 3/4″ nut width and custom thinner 2 3/16″ string spacing at the bridge, this model is well suited to both finger style and strumming techniques and excels as a recording instrument.
Custom constructed with a mesmerizing set of Figured Blister Maple, this woods has the looks of quilt mixed with birdseye figure and seems to be bubbling or blistering, in 3 dimensions. Just seriously outrageous Maple. Perfectly paired with a clean German Spruce top and figured Maple neck with slotted headstock and topped with Ebony fretboard, pyramid bridge and overlay plus full body, fretboard and headstock custom Tortoise bindings. Convenient as a travel guitar but with the authoritative tone of a performance instrument, this model is versatile choice for any guitarist.
