Up for sale is a beautiful and incredibly rare 2000 Gibson Custom Shop ES-446 in VG+ condition and perfect working order. We just gave this a pro set up with a set of 11-49 gauge flat wound strings so it plays amazingly with a straight neck, low action and the original pair of ‘57 Classic humbucking pickups sound exceptional.

Cosmetically, this instrument is really clean and has been well taken care of over the years only showing light handling marks such as: dings, pick scratches on the pickguard, swirl marks and light scratches in the clear coat from playing and cleaning. The finish on the back of the neck and around the neck heel is a tad cloudy looking from use and the nickel hardware has oxidized over the years leaving a great looking patina. The original frets look great still only showing minor wear on frets 1-10 mostly under the plain strings. The frets appear to never have been leveled either. These guitars are highly sought after and hard to find generally, and finding one in Faded Cherry is nearly impossible. If fact, we’ve only seen one other ever and it was recently listed and sold here on Reverb. Besides that specific guitar (and a random one off 12-string ES-446), this is the only other Faded Cherry example that’s known to us. And we’ve scoured the internet and have been collecting this specific model for over 15 years as it’s a personal favorite.

This axe is 100% original and has untouched solder joints. Comes with the original hard shell case that’s as clean as the guitar. The guitar weighs 6lbs 2.6oz. The nut width is 1.70”. The neck thickness is .825” at the 1st fret and .895” at the 12th fret. It sports a one piece spruce top with mahogany back, sides and neck and rosewood fingerboard.
