With its snarling P-90s, wicked fast neck, and mean double-cutaways, this early '60s-style Gibson SG Special boasts all the same mojo as the very first SG's that shook the world of music 60 years ago.
Gibson designed this SG Special to play wonderfully while still projecting that classic SG bite. Sporting an all-mahogany body, this axe produces a rich, resonant tone that'll color your playing with character and depth. This Gibson SG features a new and improved SlimTaper neck, giving it a great in-hand feel that makes riffing away for hours an absolute joy. And, with a buffed rolled-edge rosewood fingerboard and Plek'd frets, this guitar offers ultra-fast and precise fretting.
Powering this beast is a versatile set of P-90 pickups that pump out their own brand of grit and sizzle. These pickups have a high output and a biting treble that cuts through the mix perfectly when shredding lead lines with the volume maxed out. If you're looking for a little more aggression, run these pickups through a high-gain tube amp and your favorite fuzz effect to channel all the grind, bark, and growl you could ever want. Dial the volume back, though, and you'll find that these pickups project a surprisingly sweet and articulate tone. Hand-wired with orange drop capacitors by the experts at Gibson, these pickups are going to sound great no matter what you do with them.
Complete with Vintage Kluson tuners, a compensated wraparound bridge, and a gorgeous nitrocellulose lacquer finish, this Gibson SG Special is a time-honored rock and roll machine.
