The Dynaudio Acoustics C3 MkII is a three-way reference monitor for small and medium music studios and for film and television post-production. It uses the same driver components as Dynaudio's flagship M4 system in a smaller cabinet: a 30 cm MSP woofer, a 17 cm MSP midrange and the Esotar 3 soft dome tweeter. With a subwoofer and eight or ten surrounds, C3 MkII speakers form an immersive system for Dolby Atmos Home Entertainment layouts such as 7.1.4 and 9.1.4.
Drivers and Crossover
The 30 cm bass driver has a 100 mm ferrofluid-cooled voice coil. The 17 cm midrange uses a 75 mm ferrofluid-cooled voice coil and a neodymium magnet, and a high-power passive crossover joins it to the Esotar 3 tweeter. The crossover points sit at 200 Hz and 3 kHz.
Amplification
The C3 MkII runs as an active two-way system from outboard amplifiers, with two amplifier channels per speaker at 250 to 500 W per channel. Dynaudio's recommended pairing is two DCA stereo amplifiers fitted with crossover cards, or a DA40 DSP amplifier, which drives a stereo pair.
