Vintage Gibson ES-175 archtop cutaway guitar. Serial number dates to early 1952, made in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

The single neck P90 pickup, wiring, potentiometers, high rise early 1950’s volume and tone control knobs, and nut all appear original and are in good working condition. Rosewood height-adjustable bridge. Frets are original. Vintage replacement chrome Gibson tailpiece and correct replacement Kluson single ring tuners. Truss rod works fine. Original gloss sunburst nitrocellulose finish with mature checking on the body and neck heel, and scattered nicks and scratches consistent with play and age. Two linear finish checks in the tail treble rim have been stable for the 20 years I have had this guitar (see pix). Play wear on the neck finish on the treble side. See pictures.

The guitar has been professionally set up, relief set at 0.007, action set at 4/64” and 4/64”, 1st and 6th strings at the 12th fret. This instrument is truly a pleasure to play. It sounds great unplugged, and when amplified, the original P90 pickup sounds warm and full, pure jazz tone reminiscent of the ES-175 heard frequently on Joe Pass and Herb Ellis recordings.

A 1945 vintage brown Epiphone case with dark blue plush interior is included, in good structural shape with the interior in excellent condition. Guitar and case are both clean, and have been kept in non-smoking, humidity-controlled AC environment.

The guitar will be shipped insured and very carefully packed. Shipping to continental US only, and only to verified U.S. address.
