The real wood YD9000 I bought with club funds during my amateur days is still being played and cherished today. I recently reunited with it after more than 30 years, and I was captivated by its matured sound. As I celebrated my 30th anniversary as a professional, I wanted an instrument that I could continue playing for the next 30 years, even until I'm 80, and there was no other choice but the YD9000. Featuring an all-birch shell, which can be considered the origin of Yamaha drums, the bearing edge uses the same edge angle (60°) and edge apex radius (R3) as the YD9000AJ. It is characterized by a rounded, full wood sound.
