This is a Conn Mellophonium in F. It is in good plating condition, but like most of these horns it is cosmetically challenged. As you can see in the pictures, there is an area in the Bell throat that has been carefully rolled out, and there are scratches, scuffs, and dark spots in the lacquer.
The valve action is light and fast, with the original narrow valve springs which have not been stretched. The plating on the valves is in excellent condition. All slides pull easily. It's an excellent player, with a nice pure tone, and definitely a conversation piece.
As noted in the title, this does come with the original Mellophonium mouthpiece, which is very much a rarity.
It comes in its original case, which is a bit ragged around the edges, but very solid and certainly capable of protecting the horn during shipping and transporting the horn to gigs.
