The Fishman ToneDEQ AFX combines a high-impedance preamp, 4-band EQ, and DI output with two independent effects sections. The preamp section includes a 10dB boost switch and automatic ground lift on the XLR output. The effects side offers a compressor with adjustable threshold and ratio, plus a modulation section with chorus, flanger, and tremolo modes. Both effects sections can be bypassed independently via footswitches.

The unit runs on a standard 9-volt battery or optional external power supply. The signal path remains fully analog throughout, with the effects section using digital processing only for the modulation algorithms. The layout places the preamp/EQ controls on the left side and the effects on the right, with dedicated footswitches for each section.
