About this listing

A rare and beautiful, early Danelectro Bellzouki in lovely condition for its age, which I believe to be 1961/62. All original. It’s a unique sounding guitar and one I’m reluctant to let go of, but I am not giving it much use and this thing should be played!! Collection from Mancheste preferred. I am regularly in Central London and could bring it with me.

Overview

The Danelectro Bellzouki was inspired by a traditional Bouzouki and concieved by session player Vinnie Bell; hence the name. Eventually the Bellzouki would be redesigned with upper and lower bouts on the body to enhance playability. Earlier examples have a full rounded body with 12-strings and a single Danelectro pickup.
