The Mercury line was positioned directly below the premium Bach Stradivarius line. While built with the excellent craftsmanship and acoustic precision of the famed Vincent Bach Mt. Vernon workshop, it was stripped of cosmetic extras to keep costs down. It generally featured an all-brass build (lacking the nickel-silver trim found on the Stradivarius models) and omitted the mobile first- or third-valve slide adjusters
