About this listing
A metal snare drum from the Ludwig Standard Series produced from around 1968 through the early 1970s?sometimes referred to as the g8-lug Supraphonich! Manufactured as a Ludwig Standard Series metal snare drum from the late 1960s to the early 1970s 14" ~ 5", 8-lug configuration Features a Chrome Over Aluminum (Ludalloy) shell Seamless aluminum shell with no center bead Equipped with a P-83 strainer and an inner mute Features the same 8-lug configuration as the Acrolite, but with a chrome finish For a long time, the Ludwig Standard Series was treated as the gbudget version of Ludwig,h gthe non-Supraphonic line,h or gthe lower-tier model compared to Acrolite,h and was considered an unpopular model. However, it has recently seen a resurgence in popularity due to the fact that the shells are actually made of Ludalloy, feature a seamless aluminum shell, are equipped with a P-83 strainer, and are vintage American-made Ludwig drums. For a Ludwig without a center bead, itfs exceptionally well-made. The entire shell vibrates easily, producing an open tone; when you mute its wild, unruly sound, it produces a strangely compelling tone. The rest is up to the drummerfs skill! Itfs appealing that a snare like this has such solid materials that define its tone. There are signs of use, age-related wear, and scratches, but it is being sold as-is. Condition Grade: B+: Some scratches, but no issues for normal use Shell: Radialloy Size: 14x5 Hoop/Tension: 8-tension press hoop * As this is a used item, there may be scratches, dents, or other imperfections that are not clearly visible in the photos or not listed here.
