About this listing
Up for sale is my truly remarkable, time-capsule example of a 1997 Guild Starfire IV in its most iconic finish: Transparent Cherry Red.This guitar was handcrafted at the legendary Westerly, Rhode Island factory during a highly celebrated era of Guild production. Finding a late-90s Westerly Starfire in this condition is incredibly rare—it is in absolute mint condition, and comes complete with its original Guild hardshell case (also in mint condition).Condition Report:Body & Finish: Pristine. The transparent cherry finish is vibrant, with absolutely no finish checking, bucklerash, dents, or deep scratches. A couple of very minor hairline scratches you can barely see unless under bright lights.Neck & Frets: The neck is straight, the truss rod functions perfectly, and the frets show virtually zero play wear. The binding is completely intact with no discoloration or cracking.Hardware & Electronics: The hardware is in exceptional shape with none of the typical heavy pitting or tarnishing. Everything is 100% factory original and untouched.Specifications:Origin: Westerly, Rhode Island, USA (Serial number on the back of the headstock and internal oval label).Pickups: Factory-original Seymour Duncan-designed SD-1 humbuckers.
