Mo Says... Three oscillators, ladder-filter growl and enough knobs to divert a small spacecraft, the Model D puts classic analogue monosynth territory into a compact desktop module, with MIDI and CV connectivity aboard.Notable ParticularsThree-oscillator analogue architecture provides powerful basses, leads, drones and classic synthesizer textures24 dB ladder-style low-pass/high-pass filter offers everything from rounded warmth to resonant analogue biteDedicated oscillator, mixer, filter and contour controls make sound creation immediate and satisfyingly hands-onMIDI, USB and extensive CV connectivity allow easy integration with keyboards, DAWs and modular equipmentCompact desktop format can also be integrated into a Eurorack setup, delivering substantial analogue firepower without a full-size keyboardThe DetailsThe Behringer Model D is a compact analogue monosynth module inspired by one of synthesis history's most celebrated three-oscillator designs. It offers a wonderfully direct signal path with three oscillators, mixer, noise source, classic ladder-style filter and dedicated filter and loudness contours. The oscillator bank provides independently adjustable ranges and tuning, letting you stack oscillators for enormous bass sounds, detune them for animated leads or venture into more experimental territory. The mixer provides individual oscillator level controls alongside external input and noise, while the filter section offers cutoff, emphasis and contour controls for sculpting everything from dark, rounded pulses to snarling resonant sweeps. Its semi-modular connections open the door to further experimentation, while MIDI In and Thru, USB MIDI and rear-panel main outputs make it equally at home in a conventional studio setup. External audio can also be fed through the synth's signal path, allowing other instruments and sound sources to enjoy a trip through its analogue circuitry. This example is supplied in its box with packaging and power supply as pictured. A splendid little laboratory for anyone seeking proper hands-on analogue synthesis. No menus, no archaeological expedition through sub-pages, just oscillators, filter, envelopes and the delicious possibility of accidentally summoning a bass note large enough to trouble the foundations.
