Electro-Voice EVF-1181S 18in Front-Loaded Subwoofer (Weatherized White)

Overview

The Electro-Voice EVF-1181S is an 18 in front-loaded subwoofer for fixed installation, using one EVS18SB woofer in a trapezoidal 13-ply birch enclosure. Used with EVF full-range and low-frequency systems, it extends low-frequency output down to 35 Hz (-3 dB). The EVF-1181S has no internal low-pass filter and runs in biamp mode, with the crossover set in an external DSP. It shares the height of the EVF 12 in and 15 in enclosures, and its rigging lets it form vertical or horizontal clusters with EVF and EVH loudspeakers. The cabinet comes in black or white, in three versions: EVCoat for interior use, PI for indirect weather exposure such as under a roof overhang, and FG with a fiberglass finish for direct exposure.

• Weather resistance: EVCoat versions are rated IP44; PI and FG versions are rated IP55 and use a stainless steel grille with hydrophobic cloth. External fasteners are stainless steel on all versions. FG versions have no enclosure vents, which somewhat reduces low-frequency response.
