Hofner 500/1 Van Wouw Right Handed Bass 1961 - Sunburst - Beatles Guitar

A Genuine Beatle "Cavern" bass made alongside Paul's

Celebrating Paul's missing bass movie, I rather reluctantly present my beautiful "Cavern" bass for sale.
This is a unique hand made original and NOT a re-issue of any kind.
Almost identical to Paul's, this has the vertical Hofner headstock on a three piece neck with rubgy tuners, and feature the close together "cavern" pickups which are the same as his first beatle bass.

This exact combination of features is what makes this bass much more desirable.
A left hand exact model made on the same run at the same time with the same POT codes (071) sold on Reverb for over $100,000 (£76K) + VAT!! and £455 delivery!!! And that was over 3 years ago!!!!

The last original 1961 with similar attributes sold on eBay or £18K+VAT by the BAVARIAN BEATLES STORE about 4 or 5 years ago and since then original early 60's Hofner basses have nearly doubled in price with very early ones if and when they very rarely turn up for sale.

My Pot Codes are native 41/071 and this actual bass was photographed for use in the Höfner: The Complete Violin Bass Story by Steve Russell and Nick Wass (spread across two pages P74-75) and is a well known bass with full history and provenance known also as bought from the original owner's family who were name-checked/credited in this book and I have the purchase receipt plus correlating correspondence with/from this original owner's family with full story and history of this bass etc.
This bass is listed in the Hofner hall of fame, on Steve Russell's website just 2 or 3 away from Paul's and most definitely made alongside Paul's as shares the same POT codes. Amazing.
Van Wouw serial number on top of headstock is 3298.
Has just had it's first and only neck reset to make it 100% playable again like as new for the first time in many years of it sitting in it's case with a small near invisible repair as always when this is done and it plays absolutely magical like it plays itself . OMG
Comes with it's 1961 original black Jacob Winter case that is still full functional with all clips and clasps working.
Would so love to keep it but am trying to raise funds so open to offers.

I have never sold anything on Reverb before but have excellent feedback on eBay and run the beatlebay.co.uk information website.

You can see the bass at the 22.30 mark in the video, this was just before I had the neck professionally reset.
