The Epiphone Casino Coupe was officially introduced in May 2014. It was designed as a "racecar-sized" version of the legendary full-sized Casino, which has been a staple of rock and roll since 1961. The "Coupe" takes the iconic hollow-body construction and P-90 "dogear" pickups of the original Casino but scales the body down to the size of an ES-339. This makes it approximately 85% of the size of a standard Casino, offering a more comfortable, compact feel and better feedback control without sacrificing the classic archtop tone. Produced primarily between 2014 and 2019, it appealed to both traditionalists who loved the Beatles-era Casino sound and contemporary guitarists who preferred a smaller, more portable instrument. Unlike the semi-hollow ES-339, which has a solid centre block, the Casino Coupe is a true hollow-body guitar, making it very lightweight (roughly 6 lbs) and acoustically resonant. It features the 1960s-style Sloped Dovewing headstock with a 14-degree angle and a vintage-style "bullet" truss rod cover.
