The PLASMA Pedal achieves distortion by expressing audio signal as a High Voltage electrical discharge. When audio signal is amplified to over 3000 Volts, it becomes extremely saturated and distorted. The visible high voltage electric discharge travels between two electrodes in a specially designed xenon tube.
