A superb Blackstar HT-5 5-watt valve guitar combo amplifier finished in Black and presented in excellent condition, showing only minimal signs of use and remaining in full working order. This example also includes the original Blackstar footswitch, mains lead and paperwork.

Part of Blackstar's original HT valve amplifier range, the HT-5 was designed specifically to deliver the response, compression and natural breakup of a traditional valve amplifier at much more manageable volume levels. Its innovative 5-watt push-pull power stage uses a 12BH7 dual-triode valve, paired with an ECC83 preamp valve, producing a remarkably full and dynamic sound from such a compact amplifier.

Two footswitchable channels provide a versatile choice of Clean and Overdrive tones, with independent volume controls and dedicated gain control for the overdrive channel. A full three-band EQ is complemented by Blackstar's ISF (Infinite Shape Feature) control, allowing the overall tonal character to be shifted between more American- and British-inspired voicings and anywhere in between.

The HT-5 is fitted with a 10" Celestion speaker and offers an unusually comprehensive selection of connections for a compact valve combo. These include an effects loop with switchable +4dBV/-10dBV operating level, external speaker outputs and a speaker-emulated output for recording or headphone practice. The emulated output can also be switched between 1x12 and 4x12 cabinet voicings.

With only 5 watts available, the HT-5 is particularly well suited to home practice, studio recording and lower-volume rehearsals, allowing the valve output stage to be driven considerably harder than would normally be practical with a larger valve amplifier.
