Up for sale is a rather special 2004 Gibson Les Paul Standard in Heritage Cherry Sunburst.
This isn't just a standard run-of-the-mill production model; it is a fully documented Yamano Export. Yamano was Gibson’s Japanese distributor at the time, famous for their incredibly strict quality control. They regularly rejected average guitars and cherry-picked only the absolute best tops, weights, and builds for the Japanese market. Yamano-era Gibsons are highly sought after by players and collectors alike for being a definitive cut above the rest.
I am only letting this go as I need to free up some funds, otherwise, this would firmly be staying in my collection.
The Build & Specs (Pre-Chambered)
Crucially, because this is a 2004, it is from the highly desirable pre-chambered era. It features Gibson’s traditional solid feel (with the classic 9-hole weight relief) rather than the fully hollowed-out chambering they introduced in late 2006. As a result, it sounds massive. It delivers that proper, thick, low-end punch and endless sustain that a great Les Paul should have.
Tone & Aesthetics
The AAA figured top on this guitar is magnificent and has taken on a beautiful, naturally faded vintage quality over the last two decades. Acoustically, she rings out like a bell. Plugged in, the pickups are remarkably dynamic and touch-sensitive, they capture every nuance of your pick attack, cleaning up brilliantly when you roll the volume back, and singing with rich, resonant sustain when driven hard.
Playability & Condition
This has been my main player for three years, and the moment you feel the neck, you'll understand why. It is exceptionally smooth, fast, and comfortable.
Please note: this is a genuine player’s guitar, not a museum piece kept under the bed. It has nearly 20 years of honest, authentic play-wear, including dings, small dents, and surface scratches across the body. It’s genuine character earned from proper use. However, the guitar is structurally entirely sound, there are no breaks, cracks, or repairs, the electronics work flawlessly, and the frets and neck are absolutely fine with plenty of life left in them.
What’s Included:
- The Guitar
- Original Gibson Hard Case
- The Original Yamano Paperwork and Booklets
Pricing & Offers:
Given the Yamano provenance, the AAA top, and the pre-chambered build, this is a fantastic example of a modern-classic Les Paul. However, I am motivated to sell to free up cash, and I am very open to sensible offers. If you are genuinely interested, please don’t hesitate to hit the 'Make an Offer' button & let's work out a deal!
UK/International shipping is available, though domestic shipping is preferred, and it will be bulletproof-packed for transit. Collection in person is also more than welcome. Please feel free to drop me a message with any questions or if you'd like more photos!
