Up for sale is a pair of DIYRE Colour Palette 500 modules, with four Colours each:
- 15IPS Tape Saturation Colour
- CTX Transformer Console Colour
- JFT Class-A Transistor Colour
- MN-50 Smash Compressor Colour
These are the original MK1 Colour Palettes, which I bought and built as soon as they were released. They came with the 15ips, CTX and JFT colours.
I later added the MN-50 colour which is a clone of the compressor in the Fostex MN-50 mini mixer. These were great as built, but I wanted to make some changes and so I contacted the designer at Avenson Audio. With his help I changed the release control to have more focus on the useful shorter release times, and also adjusted the input headroom to better accommodate typical line level sources. Finally, I decided that I wanted to be able to control the release from the front of the unit, rather than having to open it up. So I drilled some holes and relocated the pots.
The 15IPS modules have been modified with a higher high-pass frequency. This can be heard in the demo video above. If you are interested, but would like them reverted back to the stock values, feel free to send me a message.
Please be aware that these are hand-built units that have been tinkered with and modded a lot. I made a lot of adjustments to the MN-50 modules in particular, and ended up lifting some solder pads as a result. This was easily fixed with jumper wire however. All the modules are in full working order, as can be heard in the demo video.
