AMS Neve 2254/R diode-bridge compressor/limiter, purchased new in 2016 and used in my own studio ever since. Single-channel rack unit, transformer-balanced, with the separate compressor and limiter sections and stepped recovery-time selector the 2254 is known for.
This is the modern AMS Neve build of the classic 2254 — the sound that's all over 70s records: thick, forgiving glue on drum busses and mix busses, and a bass and vocal compressor that flatters almost anything you put through it.
Condition: Excellent. Fully working and in daily use up to the point of listing. Front panel, knobs and switches are clean with only light rack wear.
One thing to be aware of: the front-panel power switch has been disabled, so the unit powers up as soon as it's plugged into the mains and stays on until unplugged. This is a deliberate modification and doesn't affect audio performance in any way — but if you want switched control you'll want it on a switched rack power distro, or a tech can restore the original switch easily. I'm flagging it up front so there are no surprises.
