This is a vintage student model flute from Boosey & Hawkes. Latterly they were made in Taiwan until ceasing production in 2003, however this one appears to be an earlier Made in USA variant. The engraving reads "B&H 400 Made for Boosey & Hawkes in the USA".
The flute has been appraised and tested by a good friend who plays flute at orchestra standard, she says it plays well on all notes in all three octaves. It has a nice tone, and the pitch is spot on. There are some marks which have been acquired over the years, but nothing to affect its playability or good looks.
