Musik Haus was opened in 1995 by John and Mary Jane Kirby and was started as a family owned business. Since its inception customer service has been at the forefront of the business philosophy and this ideology has served the musical community and the business well. Product lines have come and gone, but the customers needs have always been at the forefront of the business.

In the late summer of 2018, I (Gary, one of the owners) visited Musik Haus one morning while doing some window shopping in Gaylord and met John sitting behind the counter. In the course of friendly conversation I mentioned to John that I always had a dream of someday working in or owning a music store. He got this sheepish grin on his face and said "Well, this store is for sale". Eight weeks later I was the new owner. Never in my wildest dreams did I think the day would end in my becoming a business owner. This was certainly one of several "God Moments" that I have experienced in life.

My wife, Teresa, and I prayed about this purchase and subsequently offered the opportunity for my son Steve and his family to join us as part of this venture so that this could remain a family run operation with customer service as the central theme.

I (Gary) have been involved in music of some sort for 57 years playing in bands and on numerous worship teams across the country. Teresa is a classically trained pianist also involved in worship though not as extensively, and Steve is currently studying music to increase his awareness of the musical needs of our customer base.

All the equipment we carry and sell will be items that we would use in our personal musical escapades. We pride ourselves in carrying brands that we enjoy and we test any new equipment before we put it on the floor for sale to make sure it is something we would actually use in our own musical endeavors.

Our business is all about people and playing music and we LOVE what we do.
