I love to build effect pedals, especially fuzz related effects. This is my way to express my creativity with passion and inspiration and produce something which guitar players can enjoy. It all starts with going through the process of planning, building, tweaking and refining the ingredients until the final layout of the components produce the legendary fuzz tones we all desire. The process includes carefully selecting the right components including proper germanium transistors. Latter are the heart of each fuzz pedal and need to be well choosen so that each stage is working properly and stable under ambient conditions. As germanium transistors can be temperature sensitive, they need special attention in choosing the right specifications......based on my experience I can say these components can become quite unpredictable in the final circuit, but a tedious selection process helps to orchestrate these tiny beasts for a great sounding unit. Sustainability has always been a criteria for my builds. I am concious of scarcity of raw materials and natural ressources. Therefore I like the idea of upcycling and recycling materials and components in my builds where practically feasible. When I build pedals I try to rely on new old stock (NOS) components whenever I can find batches of vintage components. Of course even NOS, resistors and capacitors age with time and can become out of spec while sitting around. Thus, in the selection process all components are going through a carefull selection process, checking the values as well under live conditions without compromise. Each pedal is fully handcrafted and therefore one of a kind and unique build. As the pedals are custom build none of these are identical and have their own tonal flavors within the range of fuzz they are producing. The Mighty Benders have bias controls included on board, allowing to dial in between blooming rich fuzz overdrive tones down to single octave type starving mode. It can be set by individual taste allowing the guitar player to adjust his or her favorite fuzz tone. The Level and Fuzz controls allow to control the amount of fuzz and volume resulting in sustained wild ringing fuzz flavors. I believe a good fuzz is like a good cooking recipe, if the ingredients are well choosen and it is well prepared and seasoned the result is a extraordinary tonal experience. Most important it gives you a creative tool in your hands to express yourself and enjoy your music. That said let us enjoy these beautiful fuzz machines.
