Inspired by his use of amp-modeling technology, Scarlet & Scourge was designed to convey Periphery's perfect overdriven amp sound while still allowing for clarity in complex chord voicings, coil splitting, and drop tunings. After extensive testing by Mark & the Seymour Duncan engineering team, Scarlet and Scourge were brought to life.
Like Alpha, Mark's other signature neck pickup, Scarlet is equipped with a ceramic magnet, but the output is tailored to deliver clear note definition in clean and mid-gain settings. The Scourge, boasting an Alnico 8 magnet, offers robust low-end and focused mid-range, crucial for Mark's modern sound.
