About this listing
I’ve had this DrumTraks for 5-6 years; I bought it used on Reverb (for considerably more money than what I’m selling it for. Behringer has really damaged the value of these first gen drum machines). I’ve taken good care of it, never moved it out of my music room. it’s got some nicks and scratches, but it’s built like a tank. Everything functions, but there are little ticks, here and there—nothing that really affects your use of it. You can see a cap missing on the number 9. That can probably be replaced? It never bothered me. Sometimes, when you scroll through the digital LED screen functions to pitch a sound up or down, or turn the volume of a sound up or down, you might scroll through/past the value you want once or twice before you land on the value you want. That’s one of the ticks. Again, it’s never kept me from making music. Other than that … the DrumTraks is fire! It’s crazy underrated and fun drum machine; it sounds great, has a punch that holds up even today, and it gives you a different sound to your tracks. It’s in the Linn and DMX territory (the same actual samples, literally! Look it up), but it’s internal amp, ad/da converters, capacitors/circuitry, etc. … imparts its own sound on those samples. Long story short: it’s a great drum machine! I think it can definitely be applied to modern music as well as vintage synth pop stuff? A good example is “sunflower“ by Post Malone and Swae Lee—those are DrumTraks samples (Pitched down snare especially).I love it, but it’s time for some new gear, and new sound set for me. So I’m selling it, and at a very good price. I’m tempted to hold onto it long enough for the value to come up, but I fear that the Behringer effect will only get worse, not better for the time being? So … I am reluctantly letting it go, and hopefully someone will enjoy it and use it as much as I have?
