About this listing
This unit is for Local Pickup Only at our shop in Milwaukee, WIThis McIntosh MC2505 is one of the nicer examples of this model we've had through the shop. It has all the hallmarks of a McIntosh amp: backlit glass panel, blue meters, Panloc with walnut cabinet. It looks and sounds great, warm bass with not too harsh treble. This particular unit got a checkup from the McIntosh techs in 1981, who gave it a Performance Certified badge. Overall we rated this at Very Good, just very minor signs of wear with bubbling and a nick or two (pix).About this model: The McIntosh MC2505 is a classic 50-watt per channel solid-state stereo power amplifier produced from 1967 to 1977, notable for being McIntosh's first successful foray into the solid-state market, offering the coveted "tube-like" sound with autoformers for flexible impedance matching. Its key specifications include a 50W/ch power output into 4, 8, or 16 ohms, a 20Hz-20kHz frequency response, and 0.25% total harmonic distortion. Service History: No service records were included from the prior owner. Here at the shop we did routine testing, cleaning and inspection and found it to be in great playing shape.Cosmetic Condition: Overall we rated this at Very Good, the panel has a bit of bubbling surrounding the headphone jack (shown), a small nick on the metal part of the faceplate (shown, with dime for scale) and some light scuffing on the walnut chassis (more pix) but, as the pictures show, it's otherwise in good cosmetic shape. In the Milwaukee Area?
