This 2011 Martin Standard Series D-28 is typical of the established pre-2017 version of the model, combining an all-solid Sitka-spruce and East-Indian-rosewood body with a dovetail neck joint, non-scalloped X-bracing, an ebony fingerboard and bridge, a low-profile neck and restrained Style 28 decoration. It is a modern example of one of Martin’s longest-running and most historically significant designs, with its narrower neck, enclosed tuners, black pickguard and standard-position bracing giving it a noticeably different character from the “Reimagined" D-28s produced from 2017 onward.
