This is a remarkably well-preserved, all-original Gibson MK-35 acoustic guitar from the late 1970s Mark Series. This isn’t just a great player's instrument; it is an exceptional, true museum-grade investment package for the serious vintage Gibson collector. Designed during a historic collaboration between Gibson, physicist Michael Kasha, and luthier Richard Schneider, the Mark Series utilized groundbreaking fan-bracing and an asymmetrical bridge to achieve incredible note clarity, balanced projection, and brilliant sustainability. The Ultimate "Case Candy" Premium:What separates this specific MK-35 from almost every other listing on the market is the presence of its original 3-piece factory setup. The Guitar: Features a beautifully aged solid spruce top, solid mahogany back and sides, and a mahogany neck. The top has developed a gorgeous, deep amber-natural patina over the last five decades. The Case: Comes nestled in its original, correct 1970s Gibson arched hard-shell case featuring the iconic vibrant yellow-gold plush interior lining and specialized lower-bout structural rim.The Holy Grail Accessory: Included is the ultra-rare, original factory-issue adjustable leather contour support pad. In the 1970s, almost every player threw these loose pads into the trash. Finding a Gibson hard-shell case that still retains this original, intact leather cushion is an absolute needle in a haystack. This missing piece completes the ultimate factory-correct package that serious collectors spend years hunting down. This instrument is a beautiful time capsule. Finding a guitar like this with all three components together is exceedingly rare. This guitar spent its life safely tucked away in a climate-controlled home environment rather than being abused on the road, and is in beautiful condition..Condition:Excellent vintage condition. Fret life is great, the neck is straight, and it plays beautifully.Shipping & Handling:The guitar will be meticulously packed and fully insured. Ships quickly to the continental US.
