I am offering a Gibson Memphis ES-333 Faded Cherry from 2002, a still manufactured in Memphis, Tennessee (USA), semi-hollow electric guitar model from the Good Wood era with top, back and sides made of plain maple laminate including a solid maple center block (with a total weight of just 3.59kg), set mahogany neck with 1960 SlimTaper neck profile and 42.9 mm nut, premium rosewood fingerboard with 22 frets and classic pearl dot inlays, two hot Gibson 490R/498T humbucker pickups, high-quality Gibson ABR-1 Tune-o-Matic bridge including aluminum Stopbar, as well as Gibson Deluxe Keystone vintage tuners in a beautiful Faded Cherry nitro finish in very good condition, including black Gibson hardshell case and professional setup with 10-46 Elixir Optiweb strings.The Gibson ES-333 was introduced in the early 2000s as a deliberately stripped-down and somewhat more minimalist counterpart to the legendary ES-335 and was produced for only a relatively short time between 2002 and 2005. In terms of construction, it largely follows the classic Gibson semi-hollow concept with a double-cutaway design, laminated maple body, and solid maple center block; however, it differs from the ES-335 in its simpler features, a set of hotter pickups, and, in particular, the characteristic rear electronics cover, which allows for easy access to the electronics. Elaborate visual embellishments, such as the fingerboard and headstock binding found on the ES-335, have been omitted, giving the ES-333 a pleasantly simple, functional character.This beautiful 2002 ES-333 in Faded Cherry was produced at Gibson’s Memphis, USA, facility and features a beautifully grained plain-top maple top, a one-piece mahogany neck with a set-neck construction, and an elegant rosewood fingerboard with sparkling dot pearl inlays. Playability is exceptionally comfortable, thanks in large part to the 1960 Slim Taper neck profile and the 42.9mm nut width.The sonic heart of this ES-333 lies in its two humbuckers—a 490R AlNiCo at the neck and a 498T AlNiCo at the bridge—which impress with their powerful, warm tones, complex and rich overtones, and extremely dynamic sound response, even when played with distortion.
