genuine 1980 Fender "The Strat."1980 Fender "The Strat" - Vintage Original w/ Original CaseUp for sale is an exceptional piece of Fender history: a 1980 Fender "The Strat" in beautiful White ( aged to light yellow) with the factory-correct matching headstock.Introduced at the end of the CBS era and the beginning of the Dan Smith era, as a premium, souped-up alternative to the standard line, "The Strat" brought back the highly desired pre-CBS small headstock and rock-solid 4-bolt neck plate, combining vintage styling with high-end modern features.This guitar is in beautiful condition. The unique electronics package that defines this model is completely intact and untouched:The Twin-Mode Rotary Switch: Replaces the second tone knob, unlocking 4 additional series/parallel pickup combinations (9 distinct tones total).The X-1 Bridge Pickup: Factory hot-wound single-coil that pushes tube amps beautifully (features the correct yellow lead wire).Heavy Brass Hardware: Heavy gold-plated brass bridge, knobs, and tuners. The 22k gold plating shows a beautiful, honest vintage patina without being rubbed raw.Playability & Condition: The neck is straight, the truss rod functions perfectly, and the original frets still have plenty of life in them.
