About this listing
Nothing can match the tone of a Fender Princeton 5F2-A. It simply is a treasure that you celebrate in your possession, and a treasure that haunts you when you once it goes to its next owner. You'll be amazed at the presence and roar of this beast. Don't let its 8" speaker fool you, it has volume for days. From bloom to doom, this amp seems to do it all. It's tube sag is to die for. This amp is one of my favorites as it only needs 1 5Y3, 1 6V6, and 1 12ax7 and can still keep up with our Tweed Deluxe and Harvard. It is unreal! The serial number on the chassis is P05290 dating this to the end of 1960. In agreement, the tube chart as well as inside the chassis has the JJ stamp on it referring to November of 1960. This amp still retains its original Schumacher transformers. The power transformer dates to the 7th week of 1960, and the output transformer dates to the 43rd week of 1959. The tweed is in exemplary shape and it still retains the original handle. This is most likely because of this handsome custom cover that it has spent considerable time under. It also has an old Weber CVA8 speaker which is a perfect match. The amp has come straight from the tech and checks out with a new three prong power cord. Don't miss your chance on this vintage gem! This is an absolute must have option for recording. I would highly encourage using a BrownBox or similar voltage reducer to protect this amp from the modern wall voltages. It truly preserves the tone and ensures the life of the components. The rarity of this early model make this one a great find.
