About this listing
I purchased this guitar from Chicago Music Exchange after trying a number of Custom Shop guitars in person. What stood out immediately was its exceptionally light 7 lb weight, excellent balance, and unusually dark rosewood fretboard.Unfortunately, I haven’t had much opportunity to play it, as I ended up gravitating toward a Gibson ES-335. It remains in near-mint condition with probably fewer than four hours of total playing time. This was a custom Chicago Music Exchange order featuring a stunning bound AAA rosewood neck. These guitars were approximately $5,500 new. Please see the included build sheet for the complete factory specifications. At just 7 lbs, the guitar is exceptionally well balanced and comfortable to play. The rosewood neck is easily one of the most beautiful I’ve owned, both visually and in terms of feel. This is absolutely a guitar that could serve as someone’s primary instrument. It comes with the original case, case candy, build sheet, and factory extras. It was professionally set up by Third Coast Guitar in Chicago with .008s and low action.Feel free to reach out with any questions.Model: Fender Custom Shop ’65 StratocasterBody: Ash Finish: Super Faded Aged / Chocolate Brown Neck: Maple, ’60s-style oval “C” Fingerboard: AAA rosewood Binding: Bound fingerboard/neck Radius: 9.5" Frets: 21 Medium Vintage Nut width: 1.650" Scale: 25.5" Pickups: Custom Shop hand-wound ’64 Strat set Electronics: 3-way switch, Fat ’50s-style wiring/blender Hardware: Chrome/nickel, vintage-style Strat tremolo Headstock: Small ’60s-style, black painted Case: Vintage-style case included Weight: about ~7 lb
