Video: Andy Martin Demos 5 New Gibsons from Original and Modern Collections

When Gibson's latest guitar lineup was first unveiled at NAMM in January, fans of the glory days of the brand rejoiced at seeing the historically spec'd models on the convention room floor. Gibson's new executives had promised to bring the company "back to basics," and the '50s- and '60s-style Les Pauls and SGs they had on display looked promising.

In April, these models got their official release as the Original Collection. Alongside it, with a nod to contemporary players, were the company's Modern Collection guitars, a mix of a few new instruments and the company's most popular newer models from recent years.

Today, Andy Martin had the chance to test-drive five guitars from across the collections. On the Original side, we have the Les Paul Standard '50s, Les Paul Standard '50s P90, Les Paul Standard '60s, and SG Standard '61 Sideways Vibrola. And on the Modern side, we have the SG Modern.
